Celebrating Our Volunteers at the 2025 City of Whitehorse Volunteer Awards

On April 15, 2025, we had the honour of joining the City of Whitehorse in celebrating the incredible individuals who give their time and energy to making our community stronger. The Volunteer of the Year Awards were a true reflection of the kindness, generosity, and dedication found throughout our city.

We were proud to nominate our amazing volunteer, Michelle, who has been a part of the Yukon Hospital Foundation family since 2017. Michelle has given countless hours to support health care in the Yukon through her volunteer work with the Foundation, as well as many other community causes including Ride for Dad, Rendezvous, and the Snowshoe Shufflers.

From decorating trees, selling raffle tickets, and crafting beautiful event decorations to supporting events and organizing fellow volunteers, Michelle plays an essential role in the success of our fundraising initiatives. We are so incredibly grateful for her ongoing dedication and for being such a big part of what we do.

Thank you, Michelle, for all that you do for the Foundation and our community!

We also want to recognize the many other volunteers nominated last night — many of whom have also supported the Foundation over the years. We’re so lucky to be surrounded by such a generous and community-minded group of individuals.

A special congratulations to Mr. Rizwan Shareef, the City of Whitehorse 2025 Volunteer of the Year, nominated by the Yukon Hospital Corporation. Mr. Shareef was recognized for his outstanding commitment to patients, youth, and the broader community. We’re thrilled to see such dedication acknowledged.

To all the volunteers: your time, care, and effort truly make a difference. Thank you for everything you do.
